A Child’s Expectations
My parents will be there for me forever. They will always be good parents, everything I want them to be. Santa, Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa will bring me the gifts on my wish list, things I marked in the Sear’s Christmas catalog and more. I will have all kinds of fun adventures and grow up strong and successful.
A Parent’s Expectation
I will always be there for my children. They will be good and safe, smart and happy, everything I want for them to be because I know what’s right for them. They will love me, and I will give them many gifts. People will say, “What a wonderful parent you are! Your children are so successful, and handsome, too!”
Christmas Expectations
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And he came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”
Luke 1:26-28
For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
A Family’s Christmas Expectations
Heathcliff and Freya sleep in the Great Room near the Christmas tree under which gifts will soon appear. This year, my daughter Jessica and son David join us at Vanaprastha. During their stay, we plan visits to extended family, a few adventures and lots of fun. It’s doubtful we’ll succeed in liking one another every single moment, but thanks to the meaning of Christmas, we will love and hopefully forgive.
What are your Christmas expectations?
