Followers of Taoism emphasize a healthy balance between opposites, the yin and the yang, darkness and light. With that in mind, today here at Vanaprastha in the aftermath of mid-winter storm Orlena, I offer two stories from mid-summer “storms” from the past.

Thank you for your take on Race and Justice, Carole!
Appreciate your comment, Heidi. -C.D.
Carole, I enjoyed your reflections. I made a special note about your virtual learning initiative from years ago. Some schools start a journey ahead of the others. When I moved to Columbus to teach, I was blessed with the first staff member whom I met. Doug was a Christian and a veteran member of the staff. He made my transition into middle school teaching in a large urban district much easier.
Richard, I admire your service in a large urban district. God puts us where He wants us to be—and provides helpers. As for technology, I served in an innovative, “bleeding edge” school so I could help another school move to the cutting edge.
